Adriance Van Brunt (1836-11/12/1913) Kansas City, Missouri (F.A.I.A.)

A younger brother of Henry and John Van Brunt, he was born in Englewood, New Jersey, and completed an early education in the city schools. Following the close of the Civil War in which he saw action with the 22nd New Jersey Infantry Regiment, Van Brunt returned to his native city and began architectural practice under his own name. Later, in 1878, he moved to Kansas City with his brother John, designed a large number of residences, and for a while they served as Architects for the Kansas City Park Board.
