Charles S. Schneider (1874-3/11/1932) Cleveland, Ohio (F.A.I.A.)
Born and educated in Cleveland, he was trained in architecture in the office of Mead & Garfield, and on leaving there completed a course of advanced study in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts.
In Cleveland, Mr. Schneider began work in 1901 as draftsman for William S. Watterson, and after seven years in his office entered the employ of Architect George B. Post of New York, for whom he served as Superintendent in charge of work on the new Statler Hotel in Cleveland. During the last twenty years of his life he carried on an independent practice with an office at 1836 Euclid Avenue, engaged in designing a number of buildings in the Shaker Heights section of Cleveland, such as the Plymouth Congregational Church, several schools, and the City Hall, also he was architect of the Physics Building at the Cass School of Applied Science, and Austin Hall at the Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
A member and past president of the Cleveland Chapter, A.I.A., he was elected to Institute Fellowship in 1923.
