Irwin T. Catherine (1884-3/3/1944) Philadelphia, PA (A.I.A)

Formerly Chief Architect and Superintendent of Schools for the Philadelphia Board of Education, he held various positions on the Board's Building Department over a period of thirty years and until his retirement in 1937.

In 1920, when a seventy million dollar public school program was instituted, Mr. Catherine was appointed Director, and ten years later succeeded to the position of Superintendent of Schools.
