Richard H. Marr (1886-4/23/1946) Detroit Michigan (A.I.A)

Born and educated in Detroit, the youth studied architecture in Boston and entered the office of Thomas M. James for a period of supplementary training. Returning to his native city, Mr. Marr found employment with the late George D. Mason with whom he was associated for a number of years, leaving in 1915 to open his own office. During his practice in Detroit he was architect of the Kiefer Land Company Building, R.L. Polk Building, and several apartment houses and private homes. In March of 1946, only a month before Mr. Marr's death, his son Carl joined him in practice. He had been a member of the Detroit Chapter A.I.A. after 1921, belonged to the Michigan Society of Architects and a number of civic organizations.
